Account Deletion

Last updated May 5, 2026

Quiddo is operated by Four By Firelight. You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can do this yourself in the app, or by emailing us.

Delete your account in the app

These steps apply to both the Quiddo web app and the Quiddo mobile app.

  1. Cancel your subscription first. Go to Settings → Billing & Subscription (web or mobile). If you subscribed via the App Store or Google Play, cancel there instead. Your subscription is not automatically cancelled when you delete your account, so cancel it before proceeding.
  2. If you are the billing owner of a family with other parents, either transfer billing ownership to another parent or remove the other parents from the family before deleting. This ensures continuity for them.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Tap or click Delete Account.
  5. Type delete my account in the confirmation field and confirm.
Once confirmed, deletion cannot be undone. Your account and data are removed within 30 days. Encrypted backups may retain a copy for up to 35 days after that. Export any data you need before confirming.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email [email protected] with the subject line Account deletion request. Include the email address registered to your Quiddo account. We will process your request within 30 days. Encrypted backups may retain a copy for up to 35 days after that.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

  • Your user account, including your name, email address, password hash, and social login connections (Google, Apple, Facebook)
  • Your family setup, including all spender (child) profiles and account records
  • All transaction records, income entries, allocation entries, and savings goals
  • All task and chore records, including completion history
  • Pocket money schedules and split configurations
  • Push notification tokens and device registrations
  • Co-parent access to your family (co-parents lose access immediately when the account owner deletes their account)

What is kept and why

Data Kept for Reason
Billing records (subscription history, invoices, tax records) 7 years Required under Australian tax record-keeping law (ATO)
Encrypted database backups Up to 35 days Backups rotate on a 35-day cycle; deleted account data is purged on the next rotation
Server logs and telemetry Up to 90 days Security and fraud monitoring
Marketing suppression record Indefinitely To honour your opt-out and avoid re-adding you to mailing lists

We do not retain your personal account data, family data, or transaction records beyond the periods above. Stripe, our payment processor, retains billing records independently under their own privacy policy.

Co-parents and shared family data

If you are a co-parent on someone else's family account and you delete your own account, your user account is deleted but the family data stays intact for the remaining parents. You lose access immediately.

If the account owner removes you from a family (rather than you deleting your account), you get 30 days of read-only access to view the account before your access ends. You will receive an email with a link to export your data. After 30 days your access ends.

You cannot request deletion of family data that belongs to another account owner. Only the account owner can delete it by deleting their own account.

If you are the account owner and you delete your account, all co-parent access to your family is immediately revoked.
